Upgrade to Flexcel 7.25 fails

Delphi version: CE 12.1

Windows version: 11 25H2

I am using TMSDashboard 1.3 to upgrade Flexcel 7.24 to 7.25.

Everything seems to compile fine but then fails with the following error: “05:28:31 - 100%] Error building project "TMS FlexCel Studio for VCL and FMX 7.25" in IDE delphi12 in Platform win32intel: Can't find the package C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Local\TMS Setup\Products\tms.flexcel.vcl\Packages\d12+\23.0\Win32\Release\FlexCel_Core290.bpl. It likely has wrong or no LIBSUFFIX.”

I ran doctor -fix and fixed all path errors. I have disable Norton AV. I have removed the “tms.flexcel.vcl” folder and reran TMSDashboard.

The install still fails with the above error.

Hi,
This is a known issue with Delphi CE, (the bug is really in Rad Studio itself, but we had to workaround it in code).

We are about to release smartsetup 3.0 that should have this fixed (there is even an automated test to verify it doesn't happen again: smartsetup/tmstest/tests/build/delphi-ce-flexcel at main · tmssoftware/smartsetup · GitHub ). Probably tomorrow, I am just writing the final docs.

But if you want to try it before we release it, you can clone GitHub - tmssoftware/smartsetup: New generation tool to build projects and install packages for Delphi, C++ Builder and Lazarus/FPC, brought by TMS Software. and compile tms.exe, replacing the one you have. Dashboard itself should need no modifications. But as said, the release should be very soon now anyway, so probably it makes sense to just wait a little until it is released.

Adrian,

Thank you for the update. I will look for Smartsetup 3.0 in the next day or two.

Adrian,

I don’t see that the Smartsetup webpage has been updated with v3.0. Any chance I can beta test it before it is released?

Thanks - Mark Eastin

It has been released now.

I was able to install Flexcel 7.25 with the new Smart Setup. I did notice that the Smart Setup webpage and the download page still shows v2.3 in the lower left corner.

Great!

Yes, we need to still update the docs, we are planning to do it over the weekend. But the code was ready, and as you needed it now, it made no sense to wait until docs were complete to release it.
