Good afternoon,
in android application i use FNCIPEdit with ipv4 address type.
What happend is that, even in FNCIPEdit oncreate event the correct keybard type for the 4 edit field is setted as numeric, when the program runs on android device (Samsung S10+ android 11, samsung Galaxy A32 android 12 and Samsung S25 ultra android 15) and try to insert an ip adress .... the keyboard displayed is always alphanumeric. No way to change it.
Could be a "manifest file" problem (some setting) ?
It's not exactly clear where you tried to set the KeyboardType property for the edit fields as they are not exposed, but we changed the source code here to test a different keyboard type and it works as expected. We'll leave this change and on mobile the NumberPad keyboard will be used for the IPv4 IP type. The next version will contain this change.
Good morning,
as you write weel the property is not exposed. So what i expected is (when i digit one number in one of 4 edit available) to show a numeric keyboard.
What happend is very very strange because, even the keyboard type is set to numeric in oncreate event, the keyboard displayed is aphanumeric.
Thank you for expose this property in order to try and understand why happend this.
To avoid confusion, we did not expose the KeyboardType at designtime but we set the default value to number pad for mobile devices when IPv4 is selected.
It does not make sense to show the alphanumeric keyboard when IPv4 accepts numbers only.
However, it also doesn't make sense to expose the KeyboardType property when IPv6 requires alphanumeric values, so only IPv4 would benefit from it and only on mobiles.
