In vcl ui pack ver 13.5.10.0 and latest ver the TAdvGlowButton displays like this when clicked and the drop down meu is displayed
It displays like this with ver 13.5.9.0 and 13.5.8.1 (I tested with both)

Can you please share the full settings, preferably provide a sample source project with which we can reproduce this here, as I cannot see such problem:
Here is a small C++Builder project with 2 AdvGlowButtons. I complied the project with the classic compiler and the BCC64x. Both buttons have the issue I described.
Button1 has the DropDownSplit property enabled. If you click on the DropDownButton the DropDownMenu displays properly as in your example. If you click on a menu item it works correctly. But if you click on the DropDownButton while the DropDownMenu is displayed then the black square appears.
Button2 has the DropDownSplit property disabled. When you click on the button the black square appears

We traced & solved this issue. The next update will address this.
