Not usable because of Firebird 5 maximum length relation names

Hi,

I am trying to import a Firebird 5 database but it fails because the maximum length is limited to 31. Some relation names are more than 31 characters.

Could Data Modeler please be updated so it supports Firebird 5?

Indeed for now it doesn't support specific changes that appeared in Firebird 4 and 5. We plan to refactor Data Modeler source code for an easier maintenance and then release its source code. Then this could be handled.

But I wonder what error are you getting, exactly?

That is just a project check for showing you possible issues with the modeling.
While this indeed is a wrong warning, is it blocking you somehow from continue using it?

I would like to migrate database A to database B but this error appears.

I believe that is caused by a different reason than name length. Maybe your database has a table column with a specific Firebird 5 data type that is not recognized by Data Modeler.

Do you have any idea when a new version Data Modeler will be released?

We have plans to do some "disruptive" update in Data Modeler. No date set in stone, but for now we intend to have some news in a couple of months.
