I used this function as a comment on the output table from the database.
I always wrote the appropriate (source) SQL for this in Shapes.
I know that Flexcel can and did import Excel Shape information, including text.
But it was not possible the other way around.
I used to do it through ActiveX.
Later, I even programmed this functionality into Flexcel myself years ago.
Kind of homemade, but it worked.
Now I would like to know if today's Flexcel can use this option.
If not, please complete it.
If interested, I'll find my old code somewhere that can do this.
Except that it wasn't a famous programming style, my little trick
FlexCel should let you add shapes, and add text to them. Just open a file you have created with the shapes you want in APIMate (search for it in the start menu), and it APIMate should tell you the code you need to add and format that shape. Note that APIMate doesn't yet report grouped shapes (this is an oversight that we hope to fix for our next release), so make sure the shapes are not grouped.
