FlexCel 5.5 for Delphi

Hi everybody.

First of all, I want to apologize for the delays in 5.5 for VCL, actually everything is going very well, but there is always something that keeps it delayed a little more. I expect that we will be shipping it this time by next week, no more excuses.

Now, on the good news side, FlexCel 5.5 is probably going to be the biggest FlexCel for VCL update ever, even bigger than 5.0. To put it in perspective, in FlexCel .NET we have major releases every ".5" versions. To date, and we've had:

3.5: Added pdf exporting.
4.0: Added xls chart rendering,
4.5: Added html exporting.
5.0: Added xlsx support
5.5: Added encrypted xlsx files support.

Of course this is with a very big brush, the number of features introduced through the years is way bigger, and big things like APIMate (introduced in 4.6 I believe) are not even mentioned. But well, from those features, FlexCel 5.5 is getting:

Pdf exporting, xlsx chart rendering, html exporting and encrypted xlsx (and xls!) support. So it has the features of a 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.5 release, all into a single ".5" update. Don't get fooled by the ".5" tag, this is a major update if there even was one.

Well, after this little update, I am going back to coding. It's been too many sleepless nights lately polishing every detail, but I think it will be worth it. I am really excited about it, and really hope it could be ready sooner, but I also don't want to rush something without the quality levels every FlexCel release has had. I know many of you out there use FlexCel in important applications, and we can't release something buggy. Again, my apologizes to everybody for the delays. I hope the new features will compensate for it.

Regards,
   Adrian.
