is the TMSFMXDropbox component updated to the latest Dropbox API updates?

The TMSFMXDropBox is compatible with the DropBox API v2. Support for refresh tokens that was recently added to the DropBox authentication process is available as well.

do I have to use the latest version 3.7.2.1 or is the previous version 3.7.1.0 also useable?

It is always recommended to use the latest version of the product. The latest version contains some minor fixes and improvements to the TTMSFMXDropBox component so the experience will be better if you update.
