I use a TFNCGrid with incremental lookup enabled.
The grid 'remembers' the typed text indefinitely.
Most of the time, when I select another row, it resets the lookup value.
Sometimes even that won't work.
When one of the following keys is pressed, the lookup string is reset.
Escape, Insert, Delete, Up, Down, Left, Right, Home, End, Prior, Next, Tab

Maybe it would be handy if there was a property to set a time value to reset the lookup string automatically.
When working with a customer-based list, you don't always press another key after a lookup.
Maybe a feature request?
