Saving an AdvStringGrid to a BIN file with AdvGridExcelIO usually works fine. BUT: if a cell start with = an error is reported. A mistake in my settings? See sample project.

By default, AdvGridExcelIO indeed tries to convert the cells that start with "=" to formulas in Excel.
To change that behavior, change Options.ExportFormulas to be false:
Note, you might also need to set ImportFormulas also to false for the opposite effect.
Finally, I see you are using AdvExcelIO and AdvExcelExport in the same demo. If you are using AdvExcelExport, there is no reason to use also AdvExcelIO. AdvExcelIO is just an older component that only supports xls files. AdvExcelExport supports both xls and xlsx, and it is more modern.
