Remote DB Server Linux

Hi, are there any plans to support Linux on the server side in the future or is this perhaps already possible?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

You can already use RemoteDB on Linux with Indy-based HTTP Server. It's just the installer doesn't compile for Linux platform yet, but you can simply manually compile the packages for Linux platform and add the proper directories to library path manually.

any plan for supporting Lazarus/FPC on the server side in near future

ahmed
Thanks

We have the intention, but it's a long road to accomplish that.

Hello Wagner @wlandgraf !!

Do you have a sample program showing how to use RemoteDB in Linux with Indy, as you briefly replied to Michael ?

Thank you.

You should use an Indy-based server as described here in documentation:

https://doc.tmssoftware.com/biz/sparkle/guide/server.html#indy-based-server

From that, all the rest is the same as any other Sparkle module, including RemoteDB: create the RemoteDB server module and add it to the Indy dispatcher.

Thank you Wagner !!

I will follow the documentation per your indications.
