I have done this in the past in VCL, but I sold all that code 5 years ago. I am looking to auto-fill / auto-suggest addresses as the user is typing it in.
Is there a demo somewhere? Otherwise some hints (to speed it up)

No, not fetched from anywhere.
Many browser entry forms support this feature. As you start entering it displays street names, state and postcode (etc)
