Just to let you know I've gotten your email and answered. (In case it is caught by some spam filter, as it has attachments).
In short the reason is the one explained in the post above. You can expand the values range, but not the series with InsertAndCopyRange. The same happens with Excel.
As you needed to add both series and data (that is, expand the chart range by both rows and columns), this just ins't possible with InsertAndCopyRange. I've sent you an example on how you can do this with AddSeries and SetSeries. The caveat being, AddSeries and SetSeries need xls charts, they won't work in xlsx charts.
