How can I set the ID by mayself?

This is a legacy DB and I must set the ID myself. Calling SAVE, I can force the manger to issue a insert operation. However, when my record has child records, this no longer works. Please see my other post regarding legacy DB.

Any Chance to set the ID but Signal the Manager, that the whole entity is must be INSERTed?
