Any web server can be used. A TMS WEB Core application is just HTML + CSS + JS.

An XData server can be deployed on Windows or Linux.

How will one deploy it to run under IIS? What possibilities are there to host it on one of the available cloud services?

I deployed my first Xdata server (and also web core app files) under Caddy (version 1.0) . It solved also my certificate issues at same time. My host was just one virtual windows server, which is used by customer.
