I'm having an error with the FCNRIBBON component in Lazarus. When I try to use it, it gives the following error: Error setting the name of the component.

Thank you for reporting this. Lazarus shows “Error setting the name of the component” when an error occurs while the IDE gives a newly dropped component its name. For TTMSFNCRibbon, that is also the moment it creates its internal controls.
We found and fixed an issue in that step: when the ribbon is dropped on a frame instead of a form, it caused an access violation, which Lazarus reports with exactly this message. The fix will be included in the next TMS FNC UI Pack update. Until then, you can place the ribbon on a form instead of a frame.
If you are already dropping the ribbon on a regular form, please let us know:
- your Lazarus and FPC version and operating system,
- whether the form is a normal form or a TTMSFNCRibbonForm,
- the exact steps and the full error message (a screenshot is fine).
Then we can investigate that case further.
