Does XData support websockets?

Does XData support websockets or do I need an other server component to run for that?

XData doesn't provide WebSockets mechanism yet.

I stumbled upon this and wanted to update:
Sparkle/XData supports WebSockets already:

There is a websocket server demo in TMS WEB Core (in the demo folder for the FNC Chat app that uses web sockets)
