Can I cache map tiles?

Hi,
I'm just learning OSMaps and GMaps.  I didn't see a way to pre-load and store an area for use offline.  Am I missing something?  Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

Offline maps are still on the feature request list.
However some investigation is required to find out if this is supported in the related APIs and if it's possible to implement in a future version.
